Son Heung-min victimized 3 times by racism...Tottenham vows strong response

Son Heung-min touches the hearts of the elderly

Jung Jung-nam, 83, who suffers from dementia and Parkinson's disease, says watching Son Heung-min play for Tottenham is the best thing in the world. Despite her cognitive decline due to dementia, she can still name players and managers at the mention of Spurs. Jung captured the moment on his cell phone and MVIC SPORTS reported on it.

Tottenham responds strongly to Son Heung-min racism

South Korean soccer player Son Heung-min, who plays in the English professional soccer Premier League, has been racially abused for the third time this season. Tottenham and its opponent, Crystal Palace, have promised a full investigation and punishment. The incident occurred on April 6 at Tottenham's home game against Crystal Palace on an artificial pitch in central London. As Son Heung-min, who came on as a substitute two minutes into the second half after Tottenham had won the match 1-0, was heading to the bench, a spectator in the End Stand made a gesture that mocked Son's small (Asian) eyes. This behavior is perceived as a racist gesture that implies that Asians have smaller eyes than Westerners. This behavior was also noticed by nearby spectators and reported to the club via social media. "An act of racism against a smaller person was committed," Tottenham said, adding that "any discrimination is offensive and unacceptable" and that "we will work with the police and our partner Crystal Palace to identify the culprit."

Marketing with soccer players, an effective strategy?

As exercise culture such as home training spread among the younger generation, Yuhan Yanghak's Son Heung-min Pars (Antipuramine) became a hit, and GC Green Cross, which used a similar strategy, launched Kim Dong-hyun Pars (Zenol) to compete. Handok (Ketotop), on the other hand, has taken the approach of utilizing models other than soccer players, such as using actor Ko Doo-sim as a model. Meanwhile, Arex's sales have increased from 16.5 billion won to 19 billion won last year, with one day's sales exceeding 1 million won, and it continues to do well by organizing effective events.
